The Town of Erwin earned the title “Denim Capital of the World” when Burlington Industries/Erwin Mills/Swift Denim was a thriving industry in the town. The Mill hosted an annual celebration for the Mill employees called “Overall Days” and from there the Erwin Chamber of Commerce started sponsoring the fall festival that we now call “Denim Days”. This festival is held each fall, the first weekend of October.
of each year, the Chamber hosts the annual Awards Banquet honoring various businesses and volunteers that work hard throughout the year to make Erwin a better community in which to live and work. February of each year brings out all of the pretty and talented ladies (ages 18 months to 21 years) vying for various titles such as: “Little Miss Erwin-Harnett County”, “Miss Erwin” and “Miss Harnett County”. This event is a prequel to the “Miss North Carolina” pageant. A new event, the Easter Egg Hunt, is held in the spring of each year and gives the children and adults of the community the opportunity to gather for fun and games and enjoy the wonderful spring weather. The 
grand finale is the much enjoyed annual Christmas Parade that is held the first Monday in December, at 7:00pm. This event draws people from all over the area.
