The Tax Department is responsible for billing and collecting the Ad Valorem Taxes for the Town of Erwin. Valuation of property within the Town limits is set by the Harnett County Tax Assessor’s office and forwarded to the Town Tax Collector for billing. Taxes are billed in August of each year, due on September 1 st and past due after January 5 th of the next year.

The Town of Erwin requires that all businesses operating inside the Town limits maintain a current Privilege License. This license is issued on a fiscal year basis and is good from July 1 st until June 30 th. Applications for the Privilege License can be obtained in the Tax Department or downloaded at the link below. Completed applications should be turned in and the license fees paid at the Tax Department. Renewal reminders of the license are mailed out annually and due by July 31 st of each year.
